Writing
/ Content Development
Scripts,
copywriting, & articles...
... for film & video, Internet & multimedia,
digital storytelling, print, & live "business
theater."
Glitzy
graphics, dazzling special effects, or wiz-bang tech without equally
compelling content is like giving a starving dog a rubber chicken:
It might look good, but it's not very satisfying. Coyote is a good
pack member, enjoying the dynamic of the collaborative process working
with graphic & tech folk.
Scripts
(film & video, storytelling, theater): From making tech simple
to making a message compelling...
For any audio-visual media, the writing should be invisible (when
people notice the writing, 90% of the time it's because it stinks).
Coyote has the skills to write the way people talk, the ability to
write using a variety of voices, and an understanding of how to match
tone (and creative approach) to the audience and the message. It also
helps that, as a director, Coyote can write for the shoot.
Internet/multimedia:
Writing & content development that is specific to the web &
multimedia (information architecture, "chunking" information,
exploiting strengths and avoiding limitations of the medium).
Copywriting,
article writing. Brochures, ad copy, articles...
From making tech simple to making a message compelling...
From serious to light-hearted, warm'n'fuzzy to whacko, solemn to hilarious;
whatever it takes to tell the story and make the message stick.

Video/Film
Director
Creative and expert execution of script onto screen, from script breakdown
through edit & "premier." Drama & light-hearted
to documentary styles all handled with equally deft integration of
aesthetics, pacing, and performance. Having-fun-while-working-hard
directing style, good with production team and talent, and considerate
of schedule and budget all contribute to creating effective films
& videos.
Creative
Director
Organizing the creative process and team, inspiring ideas and collaboration
while keeping everyone focused on the message/objective.

Project
Management
Organizing
the process to get it done on time, on budget, and on target.
For
most video/film/multimedia projects, Coyote defers production chores
to the production companies he works with, though he often wears the
Producer or Executive Producer hat when asked (and does a great job!).
On web projects, digital storytelling, and live theater, he frequently
wears the Project Lead or Project Manager chapeau.
Budget
development and approval, researching and organizing resources, and
responsibility for production; marshaling resources and focusing them
on the objective, and getting everyone's creative juices going while
taking care of the administrivia. Coyote has never gone over budget
while garnering numerous kudos from customers and industry awards.

Digital
storytelling is a unique and exciting platform for communication and
storytelling that conveys a message, merging the polish of rich digital
images and sound with the visceral impact and immediacy of live theater.
It's typically the integration of live elements (replete with props
&/or sets &/or costumes) with digital support (video, graphic
images, sound effects and music...)
Coyote
helps develop strategies, direct creative development, writes the
script, and directs (blocking, set, props).

Nothing
beats the impact and immediacy of live theater.
Project
analysis, developing creative approach, scriptwriting, directing (all
facets, from blocking to rehearsals to final events), and producing.

There
are no boring topics, only boring ideas and creative.
Communication
is a 2-way process; if we want the audience to respect the message,
we have to respect them and demonstrate that in the presentation.
That means making the experience of watching &/or listening-reading
&/or interacting with the media and absorbing the message as interesting,
enjoyable, and compelling as possible.
The
process of developing the creative & script/copy/production is
a dynamic, collaborative process. Coyote works as either an Alpha
(leader) or a pack (team) member, embracing the team ethic of working
together and valuing the talents and contributions of people (where
opinions and heated discourse is good: rancor and divisiveness is
not).
Communication
creative has to fit the message. Coyote creative is typically a little
unusual, light-hearted, or dramatic; always compelling, if not entertaining;
never boring or imposed on the information. Tug at their
heartstrings, whack their funny bone, tickle their fancy... whatever
it takes. If I (and the team) have done the job right, the audience
walks away with the information stuck in their brain and on their
priority list, along with a smile and a sense of enthusiasm or urgency.
